Caroline Kershner, Veterinary Assistant at Big Bear Veterinary Clinic

Caroline Kershner

“I have always had a passion for animals, and I love knowing I make a difference at the clinic.”

Meet Caroline

Caroline grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of San Diego with her Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Humanities with a focus in European Studies. She relocated to North Carolina for a slightly warmer climate, but still enjoys the change of seasons that our beautiful state provides.

Dr. Lawlor met Caroline when she came in with her aunt for their vet appointment. Caroline expressed interest in the field and that she was already enrolled in a technician program and taking classes to become certified.

She started working at Big Bear Vet in February of 2021, just a few short months after the doors opened. Caroline has grown so much since she joined the team and she has taken on several roles within the clinic, including helping Dr. Lawlor with maintaining and ordering inventory and caring for and working in our surgical suite. Her attention to detail and passion for the job is irreplaceable. Caroline is still enrolled in an online veterinary technician program and hopes to be licensed as a veterinary technician very soon.

In her spare time Caroline enjoys baking, which all of us at the clinic LOVE, because she always brings the best goodies. She also enjoys hiking and reading. She lives in the mountains of Brasstown, North Carolina, with her partner Larry and her three dogs Lobo, Vecino and Ruby.

We can't wait to meet your fur baby!
